We pulled up to the parking lot at Rattlesnake Ledge, WA and there was a ton of snow!! We wanted to get a sunset shot over the lake but we were a little too late for what I wanted. So what do we do? We improvise of course! I saw a big tree stump at the edge of the lake and had my friend stand on top. After a few minutes in the freezing cold, I managed to capture this amazing shot over the frozen lake. Sun peeked out just enough, snow was perfect, water was smooth with ice, perfect silhouette.
Rattlesnake Ledge is a perfect hike if you’re a beginner or if you want to get a short hike in for the day. View on top is amazing, overlooking this lake and the evergreen trees of the pacific northwest. It’s only a 2.2 mile hike all the way to the ledge with mild elevation. Very photogenic scenery. Have fun!
